reverberating rants
tech, little prince

i don’t even remember when the last day off was…  show into show, tech after tech…  this one’s kinda special though… It’s actually good… really good.  the kind of good you become proud of, the kind of good that you want people close to you to see.  And unfortunately, the kind of good you fear will be misinterpreted… or not even gotten at all.  It’s a production that parents WON’T tell there friends ‘my kid’s gonna be on broadway someday’, this isn’t a show that’s a harbinger of some non existent future success story.  It simply exists, in this theatre in Bethlehem PA, as a beautiful piece of theatre, and stands on it’s own in the time that has been allotted to it.  It’s the kind of work of art that will only be told for a short amount of time, and no video or pictures will do justice to.  So i urge you, sincerely, to get tickets to this show.

some more shots, limited conventionals in the air and very limited hang space meant using the movers, not for moving effects or anything, but mostly just to eliminate  100 different focus points I needed.  Plus the different color temp helped with key lights at the end of songs.  Also, the strip lights at the school were useless, so i used there dimmers, and hung my own lights underneath them.  took some creative rigging.  ended up with about a total of 24 1K pars, 32 source fours, 3 source four jr’s, 6 studio spots, 4 color blazes, 19 color blasts, and about 75 feet of rope light.  145 lighting cues in all.

i cleaned it up eventually.   by the first run… really.

Do good work.

Multi tasking.

I have 3 separate shows going on this week. I just said the words “I have to focus my area mics”. Sometimes I really think I need to decide on lighting OR sound as a job….

i carry a 24 multi pack with me at all times.  and I’m’ not even the SM.

Last one I promise, but I find these Disney JR script notes hysterical.
